BIPOC Base offers an autonomous safe space for BIPOC students at ANU, fostering a safe environment to relax, study or spend time with other BIPOC students.

Study Spot

BIPOC Base serves as a 24/7 accessible study spot for BIPOC students at ANU. It provides a quiet, safe space for studying and collaboration, though it is not intended for residential use.

Utilities

BIPOC Base offers essential amenities like heating/AC, a TV, and a kitchen with a fridge, microwave, toaster, sandwich press and hot water tap, ensuring a comfortable and supportive environment for BIPOC students.

I understand that if I do not abide by the BIPOC Safer Spaces Policy, I am liable to face consequences, including but not limited to removal from spaces managed by the BIPOC Department.

I identify as a BIPOC student and I understand that BIPOC Base is an autonomous space reserved for students who self-identify as one or more of the following: Bla(c)k, Indigenous and/or People of Colour.* *This definition includes, but is not strictly limited to: mixed-race or multi-racial people, and people who are white-passing (i.e. perceived to be white due to skin colour and other identifying features).

How Access to BIPOC Base Works

Reviewed by BIPOC Officer

Submit your application above. This will initially be reviewed by the ANU BIPOC Officer. This is the first step in the verification process to access BIPOC Base.

Verification by ANU Security

Once reviewed, your University ID will be forwarded to ANU Security for further verification. ANU Security will provide access to you via your University ID. This step is crucial for ensuring safe and secure access.

Access Granted

Access processing takes 5-7 business days. We do not send confirmation notifications when you receive access. Please visit BIPOC Base after this period to check your access status. If your card still lacks access, please contact us.
