BIPOC Base - Safe Space Launch

EXCITING NEWS! After months of hard work and dedication by the 2023 BIPOC Executive team, the BIPOC Department is launching our new safe space on campus to kick off 2024!

We’ll celebrate by hosting a potluck so feel free to bring a share plate of your favourite food! Our exec will also be bringing some popular dishes from our respective backgrounds: Jollof Rice (Nigerian dish), Biryani (South-East Asian dish), Spring Rolls, Ethiopian Lentil Samosas, and for dessert, some Mochi Ice Cream.

At 1:45PM a Traditional Acknowledgement of Country will be done, followed by some speed friending and finally sharing food from the potluck.

WHERE IS BIPOC BASE? It’s quite close to Kambri but for complete directions head on over to our Instagram page and look out for our story highlight for a video walkthrough! We also have posted a map of BIPOC Base on our socials. Alternatively you can also find us on Lost on Campus here https://studentvip.com.au/anu/main/maps/142190

We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the lands that we operate on and which we will be meeting on, the Ngunnawal and Ngambri peoples. We pay our respects to Elders past and present who shall forever be part of the lands, skies, and rivers of this place. We acknowledge that this land was stolen and sovereignty was never ceded. We welcome all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to our Collective and we commit to standing with our First Nations Peoples.
