Acknowledgement of Country

The ANU BIPOC Department acknowledges the traditional owners of the land, the Ngunnawal and Ngambri peoples, and pays respects to Elders past, present, and emerging. Emphasis on sovereignty never being ceded.

Officer Report

  1. Elections

    • Voters must have engaged with the department; inactive members will be turned away.

    • Nominations open until 5/10.

    • Officer elections in Week 10, Executive elections in Week 11.

    • Elections will be in person unless otherwise arranged with Chanel.

  2. DSA x BIPOC Collaboration

    • Event on Friday at 7 PM.

  3. Queer Doof

    • BIPOC tickets opened first for better access.

  4. Racism Report Rally

    • Scheduled for Monday, Week 10 at 12 PM in Kambri.

    • Sign and banner-making event on 8/10 at 12 PM on the ANUSA balcony.

    • Encouragement to bring friends and participate.

    • Fenner Racism Panel: Scheduled for 11/10.

Advocacy Officer Report

  • Contacted hall advocates with limited response.

  • Contacted President of Wamba to spread the word.

  • Main challenge is ensuring turnout.

  • Plan to put up posters and spread the word to wear black.
