Acknowledgement of Country

The ANU BIPOC Department acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land, the Ngunnawal and Ngambri peoples, and pays respect to their Elders past, present, and emerging.

BIPOC Officer Report

1. OGM

   • Environment collective motion failed 

   • Majority of constitutional changes did not pass 

   • Officer spoke against department bylaws change, ANUSA president directly targeted the officer in response 

   • Officer is unhappy with ANUSA president’s conduct - unprofessional 

   • If ANUSA president had issues, these should’ve been discussed in private rather than singling the officer out 

   • Officer spoke to the ANUSA VP about the issue and this will be discussed 

   • Meeting on Friday with ANUSA president, this issue will be raised

2. Racism Report

   • Dilemma- time constraints of sending it off to the ethics committee 

   • However, not necessarily required to get ethical approval

   • Instead, we will be protected legally through ANUSA lawyers

3. Indigenous panel

   • 24th April

   • Free tickets

   • Panels are open for questions, if anyone has anything 

   • Need for it to be filmed or live streamed 

4. Elections - treasurer

   • Week 10/11

   • Adverts out for that then, role description on website  

5. Queerphobia report

   • EOI for anyone in BIPOC

6. Mural

   • Grady is gone, mural week 10

   • We can do our own risk management, no need to contact ANUSA

   • EOI for DJs 

   • Ask if they have food options 

   • Tickets out asap this week or next, no early bird (26th) 

   • Equity tickets $8, early bird 15, bump it to 17.50
