Role Overview: 

Passionate about social justice? The Deputy Advocacy Officer is at the forefront of raising awareness about racism and intersectional issues, coordinating impactful campaigns and supporting the Department’s mission to advocate for ANU’s BIPOC students.

Responsibilities:

1. Raising awareness of racism and intersecting issues on campus

2. Supporting the BIPOC Officer with the annual Racism Report and the rest of the executive as necessary

3. Organising a minimum of x2 advocacy campaigns and events

4. Managing an Advocacy Committee 

5. Attending all executive and Collective meetings

Ideal Candidate:

• Deep passion for social justice

• Empathetic and capable of supporting students experiencing racism or marginalisation

• Collaborative, with the ability to engage with diverse groups and stakeholders to drive change

• Strong advocacy and campaign management skills (prior experience in activism or advocacy is a plus)
